I always adore shooting promotional images with the wonderful Carolyn Henry. We’ve collaborated on some of my favourite projects to date so every time I get the opportunity to work with her again, I literally jump at the chance! I respect both her work and morals so much.
Not only is Carolyn an amazingly talented (and self-taught!) photographer, but she shares the same views as me regarding photo manipulation. Whether it’s a wedding, portfolio or boudoir shoot, Carolyn point blank refuses to Photoshop her subjects. So much so, that she’s actually turned clients away in the past for wanting their images to be digitally manipulated beyond all recognition. It’s an incredibly rare thing for someone in this industry to say no to the chance to make a profit from someone else’s insecurity. She has a real eye for capturing beauty in all its forms and has a way of making people feel at home in their skin in front of her lens.
So, after a bit of a break from shooting for me (sad times), I hit up this wonderful lady to shoot some new promotional material for me.
The equally awesome Lindy Bop decided to collaborate on this with us, which made it an extra special shoot! We shot in a lovely location just outside of (freezing!) Edinburgh on Tuesday January 19.
Here are the images! (It goes without saying that these are straight out of the camera and as such, are completely edit and retouch free.) Everything I’m wearing is from Lindy Bop jewellery and shoes aside. Styling and make-up are by me. List of garments worn and make-up products used will be listed below!
Lindy Bop ‘Novak’ Warm Grey Marl Cardigan
Lindy Bop ‘Slacks’ Red Tartan Trousers
Lindy Bop ‘Dorelia’ Black Rockabilly Top
Lindy Bop ‘Rizo’ Genuine Leather Biker Jacket
