I’ve seen a few articles doing the rounds about a photographer – Liora K – and her friend Jes Baker’s photo shoot which EPICALLY displays real life beauty. The second I came across the work of these two ladies I myself felt very empowered. The Body Confidence Revolution just HAD to show off some of these images.
The pair – who are based in the USA – did a shoot last year photographing women of all shapes, colours, sizes, and abilities in the hope that they could show women everywhere that their bodies are beautiful. After this, Liora wrote the following on her blog;
“Only presenting what has been ‘perfected’ does us a disservice and does not achieve anything except a society of people (people, not just women) that are constantly disappointed by the complete and total amazing-ness of our individual bodies’ achievements.”
They repeated the ‘expose’ photo shoot this year with 96 ladies participating.
Jes Baker wrote on her blog saying;
“Because of what we see (or rather DON’T see) we start to believe that we are the only one with our particular stretch marks. Our uneven boobs. Our scarred legs. Our asymmetrical nipples. Our belly shape… Rarely do we see our beautiful and complex combination of body parts that makes us magnificent.”
These ladies sound pretty awesome to me.
The images that they captured speak for themselves. Every single woman looks happy. Confident. Gorgeous. Unique. Brave. Strong.
