Rimmel London Sexy Curves Mascara: Review

Yesterday I got Rimmel London‘s Sexy Curves Mascara (in intense black) as I was in need of a new one.

I tend to favour a very dramatic look when it comes to my lashes. I like them as black as night, pretty full and thick and generally ‘in-yo-face’.

I have to say that I’m very impressed with this mascara. For all of my personal intents and purposes, it certainly does the job.

I always curl my lashes before applying mascara so I should really update this post after I’ve tried wearing it without curling them beforehand. Regardless, my lashes were very curly after just one coat, and this is something that I usually struggle to find with mascaras. I didn’t achieve this kind of look with an over £20 YvesSaintLaurent one. I absolutely love the brush/comb. I personally prefer the plastic comb type applicators as opposed to the brushes as I feel like they manage to coat every lash and don’t give you as much hassle with clumpiness. The shape of it really does do just that, it coats every single eyelash. It’s not at all clumpy and was very easy to build up without it looking overly excessive.

One thing I would say is that it’s not the best for lower lashes. I personally like my bottom lashes to look more natural than my top ones and this isn’t great for that. It does give them great length and everything that you’d want from a mascara but I think it makes my lower lashes look a bit like spiders legs.

Out of 10 I’d give it an 8. I would recommend it! It’s great if you’re like me and love a dramatic look but I personally will be using another mascara for my lower lashes.
